Old ceramic Muriatic Acid jar


Muriatic acid is one of the names given for hydrochloric acid. It is corrosive and has many commercial and home uses. It is also known as spirits of salt or acidum salis. “Muriatic” means “pertaining to brine or salt”. This old ceramic jar is approximately 45 centimetres tall and is imprinted with ‘Commonwealth Fertilisers and Chemicals Ltd.’ Commonwealth Fertilisers and Chemicals Ltd was established in 1929 and was located at Yarraville, Victoria.
