  • Jack Sullivan was part of a truly distinctive Australian sub-culture. His life story is in a sense the story of the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Born in 1901, Jack Sullivan had a European father and an Aboriginal mother of Djamindjong background. The author, Bruce Shaw, met Jack in 1973 and later that year began tape recording Jack's reminiscences. Jack's memories of childhood, of the Aboriginal people of the vast cattle stations, of spearings and shootings, or of his life as a stockman are vivid and absorbing. Please refer to the photos provided as these are of the 264-page softcover/paperback book you will receive. Note the two scuffs on the spine and some yellowing on the front and rear covers. There is also some foxing on the title page. Any questions? Please get in touch prior to purchase.
