In 1949 the Snowy Mountain Scheme was born. It was a massive engineering project to divert the waters of the mountain streams inland to the Murray and Murrumbidgee rivers, providing water for irrigation and hydroelectric power. There have been many books about the men involved however this is the first book about the women, young and old, who made the Snowy their lives.
This is a paperback consisting of 112 pages which was published in 1998 by Kangaroo Press. The author Kirsty McGoldrick was at the time a working journalist living on the NSW Cental Coast. The book is in good condition throughout.
