Founded in 1882 as a Merino stud, Haddon Rig is managed by George Falkiner, his daughter Olivia and their management team. The business Goldsbrough, Mort & Company Limited was established in 1848 and its registered office was at 526 Bourke Street, Melbourne. The company dealt in wool, hides, sheepskins, tallow, furred skins etc. In 1962 Goldsbrough, Mort & Co merged with Elder Smith & Co to form Elder Smith Goldsbrough Mort & Co Ltd.
