12th Light Horse Regiment (Mounted Unit of the Australian Army). Raised in NSW in 1915 as part of the AIF (Australian Imperial Forces) for service during WW1. The unit fought at Gallipoli as reinforcements as well as the Sinai and Palestine campaign and were also instrumental in suppressing the 1919 Egyptian Uprising.
