It was a massive engineering project to divert the waters of the mountain streams inland to the Murray and Murrumbidgee rivers, providing water for irrigation and hydroelectric power. There have been many books about the men involved however this is the first book about the women, young and old, who made the Snowy their lives. This is a paperback consisting of 112 pages which was published in 1998 by Kangaroo Press. The author Kirsty McGoldrick was at the time a working journalist living on the NSW Cental Coast.   • 'Emily's Journal - The Welch Letters' by Pat Roberts. Signed by the author (refer photo). This book details the letters and journals and history of a South Australian family from pioneer days to 1986. The book has 264 pages and measures approximately 19 cm by 25 cm. The front and back covers consist of laminated pictorial boards. The book is in very good condition overall however there is one small scuff along the edge of the back cover.
  • This is a hardback edition with dustjacket in good condition throughout. The author, Brendan Monks, came to the Shire of Gordon in 1980 to teach History at Boort High School and began to research local history for student use. The book grew from this research.   • Published by the Blue Mountains City Council. The beautiful paintings of Pichard Smolicz are accompanied by John Low's text, which outlines the historic relationship of these structures (eg. Lennox Bridge, Knapsack Viaduct) to their environment. The book is in good condition throughout but noted for accuracy, the edges of the dustjacket turn up slightly.
