  • This is one of the first 500 copies of this biography sold by the Presbyterian Bookroom, Melbourne. It is signed by both the author and Mrs. Flynn. The author, William Scott Mc Pheat, was born in Brisbane Qld in 1929. Please refer to all the photos provided. It is the true story of the man who transformed the face of inland Australia, a man who was instrumental to the flying doctors and the famous pedal radios. The Australian Inland Mission gave new security to settlers and home makers. For its age this hardback book is in good condition. There is some wear to the dustjacket which is to be expected. Please note that a previous owner's name is present and there is some damage to the right vertical page edge (as shown in photo).

Lennox Bridge, Knapsack Viaduct) to their environment. The book is in good condition throughout but noted for accuracy, the edges of the dustjacket turn up slightly.

The book tells the story of Lithgow through the eyes of the men who worked in the iron and steel industry to support their families.

The front and back covers consist of laminated pictorial boards. The book is in very good condition overall however there is one small scuff along the edge of the back cover.
  • In this softcover/paperback book forty-six 'stories' tell the history of Brunswick, an inner-city suburb of Melbourne. Hundreds of Brunswick people contributed their voices. There are translations provided in Italian, Greek, Turkish and Arabic to the introductions to each chapter and to the stories about those particular communities.   • Dennis O'Hoy worked in education from 1959 until his retirement in 1996. He was head of the School of Art and Design at the La Trobe University Bendigo campus. In 2016 he was appointed as a Member of the Order of Australia Award for significant service to the community of Bendigo, particularly through heritage preservation organisations and his commitment to tertiary education. This hardback book of 376 pages is heavy ((1364 gr) and contains both colour and black & white photographs as well as black & white diagrams. It was edited by Mike Butcher and published in 2015. The author, Brendan Monks, came to the Shire of Gordon in 1980 to teach History at Boort High School and began to research local history for student use. The book grew from this research.
