  • Lindy Chamberlain was accused of killing her then nine week-old baby Azaria while camping at Uluru (then known as Ayers Rock). Lindy maintained from the beginning that she had seen a dingo leaving the tent where Azaria was sleeping. The prosecution case was circumstantial and depended upon forensic evidence that was eventually found to be deeply flawed. She and her husband Michael, co-accused, were officially pardoned in 1987 and had their convictions quashed by the Supreme Court of the Northern Territory in 1988.
