  • This is the 296 page, 1975 hardback first edition with dustjacket written by Brett Freeman. It provides a detailed account of the activities at Lake Boga during World War 2.   • This is one of the first 500 copies of this biography sold by the Presbyterian Bookroom, Melbourne. It is signed by both the author and Mrs. Flynn. The author, William Scott Mc Pheat, was born in Brisbane Qld in 1929. Please refer to all the photos provided. It is the true story of the man who transformed the face of inland Australia, a man who was instrumental to the flying doctors and the famous pedal radios. The Australian Inland Mission gave new security to settlers and home makers. For its age this hardback book is in good condition. There is some wear to the dustjacket which is to be expected. Please note that a previous owner's name is present and there is some damage to the right vertical page edge (as shown in photo).

  • In 1861 the founding citizens of Bendigo saw the upcoming 1862 London International Exhibition as an opportunity to showcase Bendigo 'so that a proper idea may more readily be formed at home of the importance of this great mining portion of Victoria.' The series of views included in this book was commissioned by the Sandhurst Town Council for this Exhibition. The photographs were taken by Augustus Baker Peirce for his employer Benjamin Pierce Batchelder. Gus Peirce was told to photograph 'all the places of interest' so there are photos of where the people of Bendigo worked, banked, shopped, recreated, worshipped, drank, were punished, healed or buried. It is renowned as one of the definitive works which chronicle the early life of the city, the first forty years of Bendigo's establishment and growth.
