SCARCE publication. This small, informative softcover, 148-page book tells the story of the gold pioneering town of Kingower, Victoria and the history of the few families who still remained there (in 1975) and their descendants. It is not, as the author herself stated 'intended to be a complete history of Kingower'. Please refer to all the photos provided. Any questions? Please get in touch prior to purchase. -

This booklet was printed in Melbourne by G.W. Green & Sons Pty. Ltd. At the time Laurel Kerosene was the most popular kerosene amongst Australian housewives. The Vacuum Oil Company was the first oil company to be established in Australia. The recipes and hints published in this booklet had appeared in the Vacuum Country Journal and all had been tested and tasted. The book is in pretty good condition for its age. Some pages are creased but this looks likely to have happened during the printing process. Please check all photos provided. Any questions? Please get in touch. -
Lindy Chamberlain was accused of killing her then nine week-old baby Azaria while camping at Uluru (then known as Ayers Rock). Lindy maintained from the beginning that she had seen a dingo leaving the tent where Azaria was sleeping. The prosecution case was circumstantial and depended upon forensic evidence that was eventually found to be deeply flawed. She and her husband Michael, co-accused, were officially pardoned in 1987 and had their convictions quashed by the Supreme Court of the Northern Territory in 1988. This is Lindy's version of the story. It is a heavy book of 768 pages. Please refer to the photos provided as these are of the book you will receive. Any questions? Please get in touch prior to purchase. -

When thousands of Chinese landed in South Australia it was a marathon walk, originally from Adelaide, then from Victor Harbour and finally from Robe. This was to avoid paying a capitation tax of ten pounds. The provisions of a Victorian Act of 1855 sought to dramatically limit Chinese immigration by restricting the number of crew and passengers on each ship bringing Chinese into Victoria. This 183-page softcover/paperback book is in good condition. Note some creases on rear cover. Nothing bad but mentioned for accuracy. Please refer to the photos provided as these are of the book you will receive. Any questions? Please get in touch prior to purchase. -
