The signatures on the front of the card are printed on rather than actually signed. On the back of the card is a bio of the band's success. When thousands of Chinese landed in South Australia it was a marathon walk, originally from Adelaide, then from Victor Harbour and finally from Robe. This was to avoid paying a capitation tax of ten pounds. The provisions of a Victorian Act of 1855 sought to dramatically limit Chinese immigration by restricting the number of crew and passengers on each ship bringing Chinese into Victoria. This beautiful vintage book is undated but I believe it to be from the 1940s. It was printed by the Specialty Press Limited, Melbourne and is from 'Digest Juvenile Productions'(Registered) 174 Little Collins Street Melbourne, Australia'. It has paperback covers and has the most amazing illustrations. The front cover has a small patch of discolouration on the top right side where a price sticker probably was at some stage.
