This beautiful vintage glass light shade will require a gallery (fitting) to enable hanging from the ceiling. It gives a marbled effect having a pink background colour with brown swirls. It is 28 centimetres in length. -
The original book was published in 2009. This edition is a 2018 reprint of 180 pages. It has a heavy card cover. The renowned Eastern Arrernte painter, Kathleen Kemarre Wallace tells stories of her elders and their way of life that she learnt as a child and young woman. Her knowledge of country, law and culture are evident in her words and paintings. Her story -telling illuminates the origins and beliefs of Eastern Arrernte people and calls for respect for the ancient traditions of the altyerre spirits. This is a beautiful book and is in very good condition. -

If you are wanting one with loads of character that has been well used and added to with snippets cut from elsewhere and glued in, look no further. It is small, measuring approximately 13 cm x 18 cm. The lower section of page 199 has been cut out. The advertisements are interesting too. -
This very special First Edition book was written by Walter Emanuel (also author of 'A Dog Day') and published by Lawrence & Bullen 16 Henrietta Street, Covent Garden, London in 1904. It contains 36 printed pages of text with 18, plus the title page vignette, splendid full-page colour illustrations throughout. The illustrator is Cecil Aldin. Shona Nunan was born in Australia in 1959 and qualified with a Bachelor of Art -Sculpture from RMIT (Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology) in 1981. She has an impressive portfolio of selected collections and commissions and has an impressive history of exhibitions. Shona has studios in Italy and France. Dennis O'Hoy worked in education from 1959 until his retirement in 1996. He was head of the School of Art and Design at the La Trobe University Bendigo campus. In 2016 he was appointed as a Member of the Order of Australia Award for significant service to the community of Bendigo, particularly through heritage preservation organisations and his commitment to tertiary education. Lovers of blue and white china will be familiar with the very popular pattern 'Willow'. Burleigh was founded in 1851 as Hulme & Booth in Burslem, Staffordshire, named after the founders. When the pottery changed hands in 1862 it was renamed ‘Burgess & Leigh’ after names of the new owners . Until the 1920s it primarily produced toiletware. It expanded its tableware ranges in the 1920s and 1930s and these are regarded as the firm's golden years. This Burleigh Ware gilt edged set is made in England and consists of a tea pot, lidded sugar bowl, creamer/milk jug, sandwich plate and two trios (cup, saucer, plate). -
Thought to be Australian and dating to the early 1900s this large commercial timber and marble commercial cheese cutter would have been used in the kitchen of a grand house or in a retail cheese store. It is a most attractive piece which would be a superb addition to a farmhouse or provincial kitchen or for farmgate sales. -
Written on the outside of the wooden case is Telephone Set "F" MK. 1. On the underside of the lid a metal plaque is attached which lists the call signs eg. A=AC, B= Beer, C= Charlie etc. On the underside of the handle in an oval lozenge is PL TELE HAND NO. 1 1942 1944 is written on the base unit. (Canadian) N. E. 12th Light Horse Regiment (Mounted Unit of the Australian Army). Raised in NSW in 1915 as part of the AIF (Australian Imperial Forces) for service during WW1. The unit fought at Gallipoli as reinforcements as well as the Sinai and Palestine campaign and were also instrumental in suppressing the 1919 Egyptian Uprising. A boxed set of six sterling silver mid 20th century demitasse spoons by Tasmanian silversmith Dorothy Pickett. Stamped to the underside DP HOBART STG.SILVER Dorothy worked as a silversmith for both herself and Sargisons Jewellers in Hobart from about 1947 to 1980. She has since passed away. These spoons are similar in design to those held in the Powerhouse Museum by Harold Sargison, circa 1920s. -
