  • In 1906 at Sorrell in Tasmania, Melbourne born Howard Vernon (singer and comedian) married an actress and singer, Lavinia Florence De Loitte (1881-1962). Vinia, as she was known on stage, was the toast of Sydney in 1904 as Fifi in The Belle of New York. This book gives an account by Vinia de Loitte (Mrs. Howard Vernon) of the stories of the operas and of their production and revivals in Australia. The printer is Whitmarks Ltd. of 102 Sussex Street Sydney. This book has been signed by Vinia and inscribed as " I take after my mother (Mikado)."   • Frank Lloyd Wright’s buildings on the West Coast of America have not been thoroughly covered in print until this substantial book was published in 2014. Between 1909 and 1959, Wright designed a total of 38 structures up and down the West Coast, from Seattle to Southern California including the Marin County Civic Centre and Hollyhock House in Los Angeles, and the 1909 Stewart House near Santa Barbara. The author, Mark Anthony Wilson is an architectural historian who has been writing and teaching about architecture for more than thirty-five years and has written four previous books about architecture. More than 200 photographs are provided by architectural photographer Joel Puliatti in addition to 50 archival images, many of which have never been seen in print before. It contains a photographic exhibition of koori women of southeast Australia. This is a hard back edition of 144 pages with dust jacket. An introduction by author Tim Winton sets the scene of the Kimberley and the people who live there. There are fantastic photos throughout the book and stories to accompany them. The book is in good condition however there are a few marks here and there but nothing major.
