This item dates at least to the 1960s, maybe even to the 1950s. It was printed by Mason Firth & McCutcheon Pty. Ltd. Melbourne. What fabulous colours they worked with then to decorate their homes. The Australian Natives' Association (ANA) was a mutual society founded in Melbourne, Australia in April 1871. It was founded by and for the benefit of white native-born Australians and membership was restricted to that group. This small booklet has 106 pages. The knife shown in the photos gives a size comparison as the booklet measures 10 cms x 17 cms. This booklet dates to the late 1800s and is in great condition for its age. Wool way bills are documents that record the transportation of wool from one place to another. They contain information such as the quantity of wool, the destination, and the date of shipment. The business Goldsbrough, Mort & Company Limited was established in 1848 and its registered office was at 526 Bourke Street, Melbourne. The company dealt in wool, hides, sheepskins, tallow, furred skins etc. In 1962 Goldsbrough, Mort & Co merged with Elder Smith & Co to form Elder Smith Goldsbrough Mort & Co Ltd. This item is for collection only. On offer is a vintage metal Australian Artcraft road workers safety/warning lamp. On the top ACC is imprinted which shows it originated from a city council somewhere beginning with the letter A. The lamp inside is intact and originally would have been filled with kerosene. In 1906 at Sorrell in Tasmania, Melbourne born Howard Vernon (singer and comedian) married an actress and singer, Lavinia Florence De Loitte (1881-1962). Vinia, as she was known on stage, was the toast of Sydney in 1904 as Fifi in The Belle of New York. This book gives an account by Vinia de Loitte (Mrs. Howard Vernon) of the stories of the operas and of their production and revivals in Australia. The printer is Whitmarks Ltd. of 102 Sussex Street Sydney. This book has been signed by Vinia and inscribed as " I take after my mother (Mikado)." This booklet was printed in Melbourne by G.W. Green & Sons Pty. Ltd. At the time Laurel Kerosene was the most popular kerosene amongst Australian housewives. The Vacuum Oil Company was the first oil company to be established in Australia. The recipes and hints published in this booklet had appeared in the Vacuum Country Journal and all had been tested and tasted. The book is in pretty good condition for its age. Although no date of publication is provided the inscripted date on the front cover with the previous owner's name is 1951. The illustrations are charming and are a mix of colour and black and white. Frank Lloyd Wright’s buildings on the West Coast of America have not been thoroughly covered in print until this substantial book was published in 2014. Between 1909 and 1959, Wright designed a total of 38 structures up and down the West Coast, from Seattle to Southern California including the Marin County Civic Centre and Hollyhock House in Los Angeles, and the 1909 Stewart House near Santa Barbara. The author, Mark Anthony Wilson is an architectural historian who has been writing and teaching about architecture for more than thirty-five years and has written four previous books about architecture. More than 200 photographs are provided by architectural photographer Joel Puliatti in addition to 50 archival images, many of which have never been seen in print before. This softcover book of 80 pages was published in 1990 by the Museum of Victoria and funded by the Department of Aboriginal Affairs. It contains a photographic exhibition of koori women of southeast Australia. It offers an Aboriginal perspective of how Koori women have adopted and adapted in many ways to survive since the arrival of Europeans. The book is in good condition throughout.
