In May 1934 Ola Cohn's task was completed when she dedicated the fairy tree to the children of Melbourne. Ola Cohn died in 1964. The tree is a memorial to her skill and artistry. This book is now over 50 years old. It is a 1972 first edition hardback with dustjacket. The text is written by Sonja Delander and the photography is provided by Rick Buckingham. In 1949 the Snowy Mountain Scheme was born. It was a massive engineering project to divert the waters of the mountain streams inland to the Murray and Murrumbidgee rivers, providing water for irrigation and hydroelectric power. There have been many books about the men involved however this is the first book about the women, young and old, who made the Snowy their lives.
