The unit fought at Gallipoli as reinforcements as well as the Sinai and Palestine campaign and were also instrumental in suppressing the 1919 Egyptian Uprising.   • Wool way bills are documents that record the transportation of wool from one place to another. They contain information such as the quantity of wool, the destination, and the date of shipment. The business Goldsbrough, Mort & Company Limited was established in 1848 and its registered office was at 526 Bourke Street, Melbourne. The company dealt in wool, hides, sheepskins, tallow, furred skins etc. In 1962 Goldsbrough, Mort & Co merged with Elder Smith & Co to form Elder Smith Goldsbrough Mort & Co Ltd.   • In 1906 at Sorrell in Tasmania, Melbourne born Howard Vernon (singer and comedian) married an actress and singer, Lavinia Florence De Loitte (1881-1962). Vinia, as she was known on stage, was the toast of Sydney in 1904 as Fifi in The Belle of New York. This book gives an account by Vinia de Loitte (Mrs. Howard Vernon) of the stories of the operas and of their production and revivals in Australia. The printer is Whitmarks Ltd. of 102 Sussex Street Sydney. This book has been signed by Vinia and inscribed as " I take after my mother (Mikado)."   • This booklet was printed in Melbourne by G.W. Green & Sons Pty. Ltd. At the time Laurel Kerosene was the most popular kerosene amongst Australian housewives. The Vacuum Oil Company was the first oil company to be established in Australia. The recipes and hints published in this booklet had appeared in the Vacuum Country Journal and all had been tested and tasted. The book is in pretty good condition for its age.
